Head of System Investment Planning

Thames Water

Euan is Head of System Investment Planning for Thames Water. In this role he is charged with ensuring all asset decisions are optimal given the diverse pressures on available resources and required outcomes.  This role requires him to lead his team to consider the wide range of factors that affect Thames' decision making for the short, medium and long term.  Immediately prior to this role he was Chief Engineer for Thames Water and has ensured that Thames evolved as a highly intelligent Engineering led business. Both of these roles are critical to the future direction of Thames; it brings together all aspects of their technical capability, innovation, R&D and the wider technical community.

Prior to joining Thames Water Euan worked for exceptionally diverse businesses - Royal Navy, Sky TV, Goldman Sachs and Carillion. This has resulted in extensive experience in the Built Environment and Engineering driven businesses across both public and private sectors. A regular speaker and panelist he is an advocate of the adoption innovative technology but always with a clear focus on the outcome for the business and its operation. He draws upon his highly varied experience to innovatively deploy systems, processes and equipment for optimal effect, achieving greater value, as well as a more reliable operating base.

Euan holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Science in Guided Weapon Systems from University of Canfield.
